TCBC Re-Opening this Sunday, May 31, 2020

Dear saints!

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. – Titus 3:1-7

What is happening this Sunday?
The day has finally arrived! We are opening our door this Sunday, May 31 to have in-person worship services again.

What will be different?
According to CDC guidelines provided for our state, we are limited to 100 persons in our building. To implement social distancing we are going to seat families and singles in groups separated by 6 feet per the guideline. This will entail utilizing our multi-purpose room as an “overflow” room where the service will be displayed on the screen.

What about masks?
We will also ask every attendee to bring their own face covering (we have a very limited supply). We understand some aren’t able to wear face coverings such as those with medical conditions and young children (ages 2 and under).

Who can attend?
All are welcome to come this Sunday. We normally have 120-150 attenders on a Sunday but based on the survey we understand not everyone is ready to return. Therefore we calculate that we will be able to accommodate all families and their children this Sunday.

We also understand that there are some who are in higher-risk categories due to their health. We ask that you wait before attending in-person services and continue watching live stream services.

Will live stream still be available?
Yes. We thank the Lord for our talented sound team that has utilized technology to expand our ministry and outreach. We will continue to live stream both on our YouTube channel and Facebook page.

What about youth/adult Sunday School?
There will be no children or adult Sunday School meetings until further notice.

What about Child care or nursery?
There will be no Sunday child care or nursery until further notice.

What about CBI?
There will be no Sunday CBI meetings. They currently remain on Tuesday nights at 7pm via Zoom.

What other precautions are we taking?
We are taking every precaution recommended by the state and federal guidelines. See the attached PDF for more details.

What can I do after I attend?
Be an encouragement to others. Be diligent to preserve the unity in the bond of peace (Eph 4:3). We understand there are strong opinions and preferences that everyone has. Defer to one another and remember our goal is to magnify Christ in our worship and in our conduct. Exercise patience with one another. Do not judge others but instead honor all men, love the brotherhood, and fear God (1Peter 2:17).

Why aren’t we doing what (this church) is doing?
We understand that each church is led by imperfect men (just like us) who are trying their best to employ God’s wisdom in navigating these strange times. We respect other men who hold to different approaches in re-opening and love them in Christ. As your elders, we believe the Lord has led us slowly to this point in time where we can meet again. We believe we have undertaken the necessary precautionary measures both for your safety and as a testimony before a watching world (1Peter 2:13).
